Speed Mentoring
Tuesday, October 6th, 2015
Hope Lutheran Church from 7pm-9pm

This is always a FUN one! Mentors or moms who have homeschooled for many years are paired up for a short amount of time with someone who hasn't homeschooled long. They talk and hopefully wisdom is shared. The timer goes off and a new pair gets to talk. It's a fast paced, game style way of allowing new homeschoolers to ask questions from experienced ones.

This meeting is open to the public, so if you have a friend that might be interested in joining Lighthouse, this is an excellent meeting to attend! Last Chance to Join Lighthouse before Rate Increases! See you there!

Time to Buy a Yearbook!

Starting in September, there will be a change in procedure at NCDNPE. This is not a change in the law, but rather a procedure change from the past 20 years (or so).

It is up to homeschools to notify NCDNPE when they open and close their schools (as in the past). Now, however, you will no longer be receiving emails (or postcards) asking if your homeschool is still open. We are RESPONSIBLE for notifying the state of our status.

To open or close a homeschool, you must go to the NCDNPE website. You can also find your school ID and confirm information there. But this is no longer necessary annually.

In September they will put up a piece on their website for each family to update. If they have accurate emails, they may contact with the information.
