A Christian Homeschool Association

Local homeschool support group based in Wake Forest, NC

Lighthouse is a local Christian-based homeschool support group based in Wake Forest, NC, with members located in Wake, Franklin, and Granville counties. Our group includes hundreds of families and we continue to grow each year! We believe that God has given parents the authority and responsibility to direct the education of their children and that education includes the whole child–not only the mind, but also the heart, soul, and body.

Our purpose is to offer encouragement and support to one another in our homeschooling endeavor; to provide opportunities for our children to participate in large and small group activities for academic, social, and character building purposes; and to share information about local, state, and national happenings of interest to homeschool families. We strive to honor Christ in all of our activities, programs, and events.

Lighthouse was founded in 1996 by three like-minded homeschool moms. It continued to grow over the next ten years and in 2006 the group incorporated. Lighthouse Christian Homeschool Association, Inc. is registered as a non-profit corporation with the state of North Carolina.

Statement of Faith

  • We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that the Bible is God’s written revelation to man and that it is verbally inspired, authoritative, and without error in the original manuscripts.
  • We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, present ministry of intercession for us, and His return to earth in power and glory.
  • We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit and that it performs the miracle of new birth in an unbeliever and indwells believers, enabling them to live a Godly life.
  • We believe that creation, as described in Genesis, was an act of God, and not the result of evolution.
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God, but because of our sin, was alienated from God. That alienation can be removed only by repentance and accepting God’s gift of salvation through faith alone, which was made possible by Christ’s death.
