Integrity
- Everyone associated with Lighthouse athletics will treat our opponents, officials, coaches, and spectators with respect.
- Everyone associated with Lighthouse athletics with respect the property of our opponents and our home facilities.
- We will use good common sense, judgment, and courtesy at all times.
- Be conscious of comments directed toward referees, coaches, players and the other teams.
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” (Ephesians 4:29).
Teamwork
- We will show up to each practice and game on time.
- We will cheer, encourage, and otherwise uplift our teammates through Christ centered communication.
Excellence
- We will strive to do good work on the court, field, and in our studies.
- We will practice hard and play hard.
- We will show good sportsmanship at all times, win or loss.
Service
- We will support officials.
- We will volunteer, when able, by retrieving balls, assisting knocked down players and/or officials.
- We will clean up after ourselves after competition.
24 Hour Rule
As parents we want what is best for our children and we are willing to fight for that. Lighthouse will not discourage this but we will ask that parents follow the 24 hour rule.
- Parents will refrain from contacting coaches, commissioners, and AD until 24 hours after a game.
“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry” (James 1:19). - Coaches may differ to commissioners who may also differ to the AD.
- It is recommended that the chain of command be followed when escalating a problem, Coach, Commissioner, AD, Lighthouse board.
Uniforms
- Athletes are responsible for the care of assigned uniforms.
- Athletes are financially responsible for the replacement of lost or damaged uniforms. This will be assessed by coaches.
